What is NeWeighs Tirzepatide?

Tirzepatide medication acts upon a compound known as glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) - similar to semaglutide (Ozempic, Rybelsus and Wegovy) - but also interacts with another compound known as a glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP), making it the first “twincretin” medication available.

Early studies also suggest that tirzepatide may help some people reduce body weight. The specific tirzepatide dosage and regimen vary from patient to patient, but tirzepatide injections are generally administered subcutaneously once per week.
